Segment Descriptions
Yosemite Park
In July of 1997, I traveled to Reno and met Rob Jackson and two of the people that work with Rob; Pete Jaran and Scot Vozza. After meeting in Reno on Thursday afternoon, the 4 of us drove to California so that we could spend Friday in Yosemite National Park. We would visit the Mariposa Grove and then do some hiking around Yosemite Park.

Driving to Coloma then to Lassen National Volcanic Park
Coloma is the site of Sutter's Mill which was the focus of the California gold rush in 1849. After visiting Coloma, I drove to Lassen National Volcanic park which is dominated by volcanic landscape. This segment features a visit to the boiling pools of water and bubbling mud pots of Bumpass Hell, the 600-foot tall Cinder cone and a hike to an elevation of 10,000 ft. on top of Lassen peak.

Redwood National Forest and the Coast of California
The last part of my stay in California involved walking on the California shoreline, hiking among the towering 300 foot tall trees in Redwood National Forest, driving along the cliffs of Rt. 1, and hiking in Pinnacles National Park.
